Course Enrolment Terms

Last updated: 25 July 2026

These terms apply to group courses, online courses, travel courses and private lessons provided by inLanguage Boutique (“ILB”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By purchasing or enrolling in an ILB course or lesson, you agree to these terms.

1. Enrolment and payment

Your place is confirmed once full payment has been received and ILB has accepted the enrolment.

Submitting an enquiry or adding a course to your cart does not reserve a place.

Course places are limited and may close once capacity has been reached.

Please check that the student name, contact details and selected course are correct before purchasing.

2. Choosing the right level

Complete beginners should enrol in Level 1 unless ILB has recommended another starting point.

Students with previous experience should review the relevant level guide or contact ILB before enrolling.

ILB may recommend a different level where we believe the selected course is not suitable.

3. Course details

Course dates, lesson times, duration, location and delivery format are shown on the relevant product page.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • standard group courses run for 10 weeks
  • lessons are 90 minutes each
  • travel-course length is shown on the product page
  • private-lesson length depends on the lesson or package purchased
  • textbooks are purchased separately.

A course begins on the date of its first scheduled lesson, whether or not the student attends.

4. Fees and discounts

The price shown at checkout is the amount payable.

Early-bird prices, promotions and discount codes apply only during the advertised period and subject to any stated conditions.

A later discount does not entitle an earlier purchaser to a refund of the difference.

Discounts cannot be combined unless ILB expressly permits this.

5. Change-of-mind cancellations

We do not ordinarily provide refunds where a student:

  • changes their mind
  • selects the wrong course
  • can no longer attend
  • experiences a change in work, family, health or travel circumstances
  • relocates or goes on holiday.

Students may request a transfer where eligible under the next section.

This does not affect any rights available where there is a problem with a service supplied by ILB.

6. Transfers before a course begins

A student may request to transfer a group, online or travel-course enrolment to the immediately following term.

The request must be received at least 24 hours before the first scheduled lesson.

A $50 transfer fee applies.

Transfers are subject to:

  • availability in a suitable course
  • the language and level being offered
  • payment of any difference in price
  • the request being made within the deadline.

An enrolment may ordinarily be transferred once only.

Failure to attend the first lesson does not automatically postpone or transfer the enrolment.

7. Two-term and multi-course enrolments

Where a student purchases two consecutive terms or another discounted multi-course offer, the price is based on taking the courses in the advertised sequence.

The second course may be transferred to the next suitable term where:

  • the request is made at least 24 hours before it begins
  • a suitable class is available
  • the $50 transfer fee is paid.

Unused portions are not ordinarily refundable for change of mind.

8. Requests after a course has begun

Once a course has started, enrolments cannot ordinarily be transferred, deferred or refunded.

Students experiencing serious or exceptional circumstances should contact ILB as soon as possible.

We may consider a transfer or course credit after reviewing the circumstances, but this is not guaranteed.

9. Missed classes and catch-ups

Course fees reserve the student’s place for the full course. No refund or automatic credit is provided for classes missed by the student.

ILB may offer a catch-up class where another suitable class:

  • is studying substantially the same material
  • is running during the same term
  • has space available.

Catch-up classes:

  • must be approved in advance
  • are not guaranteed
  • must ordinarily be completed within the same term
  • cannot be exchanged for private lessons or carried forward.

10. Late enrolments

Students may join a course after it begins where ILB considers the level suitable and a place remains available.

Unless a reduced price is expressly offered, the full advertised course fee remains payable.

Replacement lessons are not automatically provided for classes held before the student enrolled.

11. Courses cancelled by ILB

Courses require sufficient enrolments to proceed.

If ILB cancels a course before it begins, the student may choose:

  • transfer to another suitable course
  • credit toward a future course
  • a refund of the amount paid for the cancelled course.

12. Changes to teachers, rooms or courses

ILB may make reasonable operational changes, including:

  • using a substitute or replacement teacher
  • changing classrooms at the same location
  • adjusting lesson content or sequencing
  • combining suitable classes
  • rescheduling a lesson where necessary.

A change of teacher or classroom does not, by itself, create an entitlement to a refund.

If ILB makes a significant change to the regular lesson time, location or delivery format, we will contact affected students and offer an appropriate solution.

This may include continuing with the revised course, transferring, receiving course credit or receiving a refund for any affected service that cannot reasonably be supplied.

13. Teacher absence or interrupted lessons

If a teacher is unavailable, ILB may provide a substitute, reschedule the lesson or add a replacement lesson.

Where ILB cannot provide the scheduled teaching time or a reasonable replacement, we will offer an appropriate remedy for the affected lesson.

14. Online courses and lessons

Students joining online classes are responsible for having:

  • a suitable internet connection
  • a compatible device
  • working audio and, where required, video
  • access to the specified meeting platform
  • a suitable environment in which to participate.

ILB is not responsible where a student cannot participate because of their own equipment, connection or software.

If a significant technical problem under ILB’s control prevents a lesson from being delivered, we will provide a replacement or another appropriate solution.

Classes must not be recorded or distributed without prior permission from ILB, the teacher and other participants.

15. Private lessons

Private lessons are arranged according to teacher availability and the student’s schedule, level and goals.

A private lesson may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or the student does not attend:

  • the lesson will be deducted from the package, or
  • the full lesson fee remains payable.

If a teacher cancels, the lesson will be rescheduled without being deducted.

Unless otherwise stated, private-lesson packages must be used within 12 months of purchase.

Unused hours are not ordinarily refundable for change of mind and cannot usually be transferred to another person.

16. Textbooks and materials

Students are responsible for obtaining the required textbook unless the product page states that it is included.

Students should confirm the required title and edition before buying a book independently.

The same book may be used across several consecutive course levels.

Returns involving books are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy.

ILB teaching materials are for the enrolled student’s personal use and must not be copied, sold or distributed without permission.

17. Student conduct

Students must treat teachers, staff and other students respectfully.

ILB may take action where conduct is disruptive, abusive, discriminatory, threatening, unsafe or repeatedly ignores reasonable teacher or venue instructions.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include a warning, temporary suspension or ending the enrolment.

Any refund or credit will depend on the circumstances, the services already supplied and applicable law.

18. Events outside ILB’s control

Emergencies, venue closures, extreme weather, public-health directions or failures of essential services may affect a course.

Where this occurs, ILB may reschedule lessons, use another suitable venue, temporarily move lessons online or make another reasonable arrangement.

We will communicate significant changes as soon as reasonably possible.

19. Consumer rights

Our courses and lessons come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in these terms removes any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20. Contact

Contact ILB promptly if you have a question or concern about an enrolment.
