French Group Classes in Melbourne
Small group French classes for adults in Melbourne. Our French courses are structured to help you build confidence from your first class, with a focus on real communication, useful grammar, vocabulary and cultural topics.
Classes are taught by experienced native-speaker teachers in a relaxed group setting. You’ll practise speaking from day one while building the foundations you need to understand and use French in real situations.
Our French group classes run once per week for 90 minutes over a 10-week term. We follow a four-term structure each year, and classes are available at our Brunswick East, Thornbury, Balaclava and Balam Balam Place locations.
If you’re new to French, start with French Level 1. If you’ve studied before, check our French level structure or contact us and we’ll help you find the right class before enrolling.
French classes currently use the Entre Nous and Defi Actuel course book series. Course books are purchased separately from enrolment and are usually used across multiple levels, so you won’t normally need a new book every term.

How Our Group Classes Work
Our small group language classes are designed for adults who want a structured, practical and enjoyable way to learn. Classes run in 10-week terms, with one 90-minute lesson each week.
Each course follows a clear level pathway, so you can start from the beginning or continue from your current level. Lessons include grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening and plenty of speaking practice, with a focus on real communication.
If you like to join a term that has already started, please get in contact as there may still be some spaces available!
Terms, Levels and Course Books
We run four terms each year, with new beginner classes starting as well as continuing levels progressing from term to term.
Textbooks are used in class to support your learning and help guide the course structure. They are purchased separately and are used across multiple levels, depending on the course and textbook series.
Not Sure which Level to Choose?
If you’re a complete beginner, start with Level 1. If you’ve studied before, we can help you find the most suitable class for your current needs.
Send us a message before enrolling and we’ll help you choose the right level, location and class time.
