Progress into C1 French in a live, supportive 10-week online course. Designed for an established group completing the B2 program, this course marks the next stage of their French journey and introduces the greater precision, flexibility and depth expected at C1 level.

Students will work with complex topics and authentic French while developing the ability to express detailed ideas, opinions and arguments with greater nuance. The course will combine advanced language development with plenty of guided conversation and interaction.

Course materials and the exact learning sequence will be confirmed before the term and selected to support the group’s progression from B2 into C1.

What You’ll Cover

Course content will support the transition from B2 into C1 and may include:

  • consolidating key B2 language while progressing into C1
  • discussing complex social, cultural and contemporary topics
  • expressing detailed opinions with greater nuance and precision
  • understanding sophisticated authentic spoken and written French
  • developing advanced vocabulary and natural expressions
  • adapting register and style to different contexts
  • structuring extended arguments, discussions and presentations
  • targeted revision and development of advanced grammar
  • improving spontaneity, accuracy and confidence in conversation

Learning Online

Lessons are taught live by an experienced French teacher, with plenty of guided speaking practice and opportunities to interact with your classmates.

To participate, you will need:

  • a reliable internet connection
  • a computer or tablet with a working microphone
  • a quiet space where you can speak and participate
  • access to the online meeting platform specified by ILB

A camera is recommended so you can participate fully in class.
