Continue developing fluent, nuanced French in the final course of ILB’s B2 pathway.
You’ll explore immigration and related social questions while developing your ability to organise and deliver more structured spoken presentations. The course also consolidates advanced ways of expressing consequence and intensity and introduces the passé simple in context.

Is this the right level?
This course is designed for students continuing directly from French Upper Advanced 7.
You should already be comfortable taking part in sustained discussions, explaining and defending opinions, understanding detailed spoken and written French and using a broad range of advanced grammar with increasing independence.

The required course book is Défi actuel 4 and is purchased separately.
Students continuing through the B2 pathway will normally already have this textbook.
French Upper Advanced 8 covers Unit 8 of Défi actuel 4.
Learning online
Classes are taught live online in a small group, with the same structured course pathway as our face-to-face classes.
You’ll work directly with your teacher and classmates each week through speaking, listening, discussion and course-book activities, with plenty of opportunity to participate and ask questions.
